2002 Specv 2.5, 210k miles.
Car is randomly dropping a cylinder, sometimes it feels like two. Its more likely to happen when the car is still warming up...and also when its cold outside, anything under 50F makes it occur more often. Sometimes it doesnt occur for days.
The car will stop firing on a cylinder, sometimes for two or three seconds, sometimes for ten minutes. During the extended occurrences the check engine flashes, and it throws a random cylinder misfire code.
Sometimes I can remedy it by reving it in neutral, and as the RPMs fall off, it will smooth out and run normal. Also noticed idle RPM is randomly hanging at 1200-1600 for a little too long when driving in traffic.
Thinking MAF as believe it or not, its the original. Is there a way to test them with a multi meter?
Im running a CAI (new filter), header, and 2J side dump exhaust.
Any help is appreciated!
**Car is not consuming oil or coolant,
**Plugs have about 30K on them
