02 Spec-V Question...

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I am new to the site so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an '02 SE-R Spec-V and my CEL is on. I went to Auto Zone to get the code pulled and it came up "P0507 High RPM". I admit I was going a little on the fast side, probably much faster than anyone should. But its not like I hadn't gone that fast before. Anyways any ideas as to what could cause this code? Because the guy at Auto Zone had never heard of it before. Also, I'm getting REALLY BAD gas mileage, like barely 200 miles per tank, with new plugs. Any suggestions for this one too? Thanks!

Probable causes for P0507 are:

-Electric throttle control actuator-Intake air leak-PCV system

How's your idle RPM? It should be high with that code.

Anyway, check for leaks in the intake.

The TPS on the SE-R is also known to go bad easily, so that's your next suspect.

The idle is a little bit high...~1200 when I first start the car...and then it drops back down to ~700 when it warms up which is where its supposed to be if I'm correct...

Yeah, that's all kosher. 12-1400 on cold start is also normal.

Probably not a vac leak, then. Not sure what the TPS voltage is supposed to be, but grab the FSM from the link in my sig and check it.
