'02 Sentra SE-R Tachometer / Engine issues

Hi,

I have a '02 Sentra SE-R with a little under 70k miles. I recently (within the last year) had 50k maintenance and a new battery. Recently, it's been acting up.

As I'm driving, the car feels like it would die (you feel a little jerk) and the tach would go completely dead (the tach would work again the next time the engine starts). When this happens while idlling, the car would actually die. It's also having trouble starting and, of course, the check engine light is on. I'm about to take it to a mechanic, but before I do, I would like to see if anyone else has had this problem.

P.S. - any good mechanics in the south Austin?

bring it to your nissan dealership there is a recall on the newer sentra SER motors.. check with them you might get a new motor

I just made an appointment with a dealership to check it out tomorrow. A new engine would be nice. I'll keep you posted.
