hi there guys,

first time poster in the sentra section (mostly in the 240/silvia section)

my father wrote off my DD and now im looking into buying a new car.

I came across a 02 Sentra SE-R Spec V, and was wondering how others have enjoyed these cars. Do alot of things go wrong with them or are they pretty reliable?

the car has 135000Kms (83885 Mi)
6spd
AC
sunroof
PW,PM,PDL

i will be going to test drive it tmrw afternoon. anything i should look for?
any input is helpful.

thanks all

Unfortunate oil consumption issues with the QR, butter fly screws becoming loose and being sucked down into the cylinders and pre-cat failure, which is the main cause of the oil consumption. Other than that car is reliable, wife has had hers for almost 9yrs now and it still burns oil. Had the ecu replaced as well under the 8yr emissions warranty.

Check to see if all the recalls have been done. check to see if the butterfly screws have been locktited and that there is an aftermarket header on it. If there is a stock header you run the risk of getting the precat getting sucked into the engine. once those things have been done the engine is pretty reliable.
