Ok, so I've got one I can't figure out...

Yesterday, my car died on me while driving. Power completely shut off (lights and radio still worked, but the engine quit). It wouldn't restart for about 5 minutes or so, but then it started, and drove fine. However, it tripped the check engine light. When I got home, I pulled the codes, and it had an 0340, which is cam position sensor.

So I reset the codes, and think "that sucks, guess I might need a new one of them" and continue driving the car. Well, today on the way home from work, it dies on me again! Again, after about 5 minutes, the car finally started (car would crank but engine would not catch). However, this time, no check engine light, and also no codes (I checked the codes anyway to see if was a non-light-tripping code).

So here's where I'm confused. How come my car keeps dying? And did I trip a 0340 because my car died, or did my car die because the cam sensor is going bad? Does anyone have any experience with cam sensors going bad and cars shutting completely off?

I've dumped $100/week into my car POS car for the last 3 weeks, and although the cam sensor is only $25, I'm freaking broke from my POS car, and I want to get some input before I go and drop another $25 on this crappy thing.

On another note...anyone want to trade a 91-97 SE-R for a 02 SE-R? I owe about $3000, and you'd have to take over the loan, but I'd be willing to sacrafice performance for something that doesn't die every week on me

2 weeks ago the O2 sensor, last week it was the ignition coil, this week it probably is the cam position sensor, maybe next week I can replace the A/C compressor or something.
