Hey guys, I found this forum as my cars been throwing an 02 sensor code and I figure I might aswell just change the front 2 sensors. Is there any good reliable cheap replacements that are easy to install in the vq35de engine??

Hoping someone has had some luck

Appreciate any help!!

Also, Im assuming the sensor is the same on both sides, same part just need 2 of them...

XL Parts will be the cheapest. google it to see if you have one locally. Bosch is pretty much the standard in O2 sensor replacements, and is what you'll typically find at the local parts stores. there is no easier or harder brand to install. they're all the same.

i suggest renting/buying an O2 sensor socket to ease removal/installation.

You might be thinking of the MAF I just purchased from Victory Nissan for $89. I just purchased my first O2 sensor this morning which I also bought from Victory Nissan for $132 shipped. I think Rockauto.com has them for even cheaper but I trust buying it from a legitimate dealer. I give dude my VIN and what part I need and he's able to get it right every time.

you are never going to find a $125 part for $50, if that's the kind of deal you are looking for then you need to take up theft as your new hobby.

Is that all you came in here to say?? Just to prove you wrong i suppose... The canadian dealer here wants almost $680 for a MAF snesor, I found an OEM one online and new for $128...

Its no dumb thing to think theres deals out there.

Im sure there are some 02 options

no that's not all i came in here to say. i forgot to tell you about my dog Daisy. she spent 3 hours trying to catch this fly in my room. she finally caught it last night, but didn't kill it and it flew right out of her mouth.

oh wait, that has nothing to do with this thread, so ya - that's all i came in here to say.

the fact that the dealer wants $680 for an MAF does not make it a $680 part. that makes it a $150 part that the dealer charges $680 for. were you born yesterday? are you just now realizing that the dealer charges an arm/leg premium for the same part you can get for much less at the auto parts store?

keep searching. i mean, keep asking on the forums, "any other options?" because you're too lazy to do the search yourself. we're here on this forum to help people, not to do all the work for them. would you also like us to install the O2 sensor for you?

Have u tried Summit Racing? They had the best prices on NGK sensors I could find. There are cheaper options on ebay but you have to splice them.

You want to get it with the connector. BTW contact Victory Nissan's eBaY Page for a 2001 Maxima MAF Sensor. I got one from them for $89. Installed it yesterday and my truck runs like new. there are the people I bought my O2 sensor from. Quick shipping and fair price.

The universals were on ebay. The NGK's at Summit are supposed to be plug and play. Understand on shipping though. You guys up North spend an arm and a leg. But you do have the McKenzie Brothers, Heh. Lets play beer hunter heh. One of my favorite Second City skits, and there werent many.

Thanks for the link to seller Billy. That is Dirt Cheap.

U are right, it is EH not heh! OFF TOPIC here but was the show: Kids in the Hall pretty big up North? Used to watch it on HBO Many Years ago and it was hilarious. Finally able to see more clips of it on You Tube. Mississippi Gary always made me laugh. Talk about a Hijack of Thread EH....

Canuck--you ever replace your sensors? Im going to look into the NGK sensors and see if they are plug and play. The SES light is really trying to drive me crazy EH....

Here is what I found on NGK/NTK website (sounds like they are plug and play-no splicing needed)

Each NTK Oxygen Sensor is:

Extensively Tested During Manufacture to Guarantee Quality and Reliability
Supplied With a Factory-Fitted OEM Connector for Easy Installation
Precision manufactured with a sensing element incorporating NTK's premier technical ceramics
Oxygen sensors should be tested at each tune-up. Failed or worn out oxygen sensors can cause:

Failed Emission Tests
Increased Fuel Consumption
Failed Catalytic Converters
Poor Driveability
Increased Emissions

Receiveed NTK 02 sensor from Amazon. It is plug n play. They have the cheapest prices I could find on NTK. Second cheapest was Rock Auto with their discount.

I would stay away from generic eBay parts, that's just my opinion. I bought a MAF sensor for my 2001 and it performed horribly. My MPGs dropped down to like 11-12. I bought parts from www.courtesyparts.com. I've been pretty happy. Otherwise my Dad has used the universal Bosch O2 sensors on his Maximas and just hardwired them in. I can't remember if he used like quick disconnects or just soldered the wires to the factory wires. Considerably cheaper than OEM replacements I guess.

Here is a sensor on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/NGK-24638-Oxygen- ... &carId=014

I havent found anywhere cheaper. I will not waste my time on a generic part, an ebay "like factory" part, or a part I have to splice.

If it helps anyone, when I made this thread, I had 3 02 errors I believe

I heard to many stories of getting bad sensors or the wrong ones etc, so I simply removed my factory ones, soaked them in gas for 2 nights (I swirled/moved the sensors a few times in the cup) I never brushed or wiped them, just let them soak, pulled them out and let them air dry for an hour. Reinstalled.

Cel's never came back, and my gas mileage seems perfectly fine...

Not a solution for everyone, but worked for me

I'm gettin ready to replace bank 2 sensor 2, this store on Ebay has the BOSCH direct replacement for $40:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BOSCH-13 ... ccessories

Kinda leery because the part usually costs $80 but his feedback is good.
