Had battery and starter changed 2 weeks ago at AAA because S.U.V. wouldn't start even when jumping battery. No noise, no start, 2 days ago starter solenoid stuck while starting, had to disconnect battery due to smell of burning wires. AAA changed the starter again. Still having hard starts. Battery 12.9 volts motor off, 13.9 volts motor running. Thinking possible ignition module issue. Any thoughts to point me in the right direction

So, if I have this right, you turn the key to start, and nothing. No noise, no crank. Then the other time, you released the key from the start position, and it returned to the "on" position as it should, however, the starter solenoid was stuck engaged.

If that's correct, I suspect the park neutral relay is failing. When you turn the key to start, it closes and sends 12 volts from the relay to the starter solenoid. Sounds like it is sticking pretty badly.

Cheap and easy to replace. It's with the other relays on the passenger side of the engine bay. I replaced mine a few tears ago - under 10 bucks at Autozone if I remember right. Probably more now.

Try starting there!

Will try, can't hurt. The first day after starter was changed, the SUV started great. Then sometimes when trying to start you could hear the starter having a hard time trying to start. Sounds like the battery dying when it struggles. But battery is new.

Is the truck having any other electrical issues?
