02 QX4 questions

This is my first post the first day finding this site. I currently own a 1987 Pathfinder 4WD with 295,500 miles. My wife and I went shopping for a 2002 QX4 this weekend and came home with some questions.

Stereo Question One: On the model without the navigation system, the 6-CD changer was in the dash instead of in back. I listen mostly to the radio or books on tape, so it probably doesn't matter much, but how does this configuration compare with the remote CD changer?

Stereo Question Two: What denotes the "premium" stereo package?

Stereo Question Three: My Pathfinder has a Sony AM/FM/shortwave/cassette stereo. Is it possible to replace the stock 6-CD in-dash unit with the Sony?

What is included in the "Towing Package"? One salesman said it included an engine oil cooler and transmission cooler, but that was refuted by another salesman and my mechanic.

Does the DVD player also have a TV tuner where we can watch broadcast television?

Is there anything particular to the 2002 QX4 that we should be concerned about?

1. instead of having a cartridge to install you load the disks into the unit 1 by 1 till al six are in there then it functions much the same way as a remote unit does via the radio controls.

2. amount of speakers and weather or not it is the top brand I believe its the bose system. The reason I say believe is because nissan has started using rockford fosgate systems now so it might be that one.

3 if thats what you wanna do ask the dealer if they have someone who installs aftermarket stereo's for them. you could quite possibly work it into the purchase deal. we have an inhouse installer who does it on our used cars.

4. The tow package usually includes A hitch and tow harness. nissan does not have remote trans coolers.

5. no just dvds or video games . You may wanna inquire from an after market source if they can add a tuner to your system.

6. I dont personally know of any serious issues with the 02 pathfinder/QX4 as of now.

It overall is a good suv. the engine is pretty strong and it will make your old pathy look like a slug by comparison. you wont have all the manifold and trans issues you have encounter on your pathfinder.
