02 QX4 no reverse

02 QX4 bought today. cracked t-case due tobad front u joints. Front drive shaft took shift motor and part of chain cover with it. Today I backed it up and drove into trailer. When I got home I attempted to reverse off trailer and nothing. The only change was I pulled a chunk of t-case off that pulled apart a 3 wire pigtail. I also moved a shaft on the rear drivers side of the t-case because it was hanging down and banging against the t-case making noise as I drove. I moved that lever by hand again and lost drive. Put it back where it was and now I have forward gears but still no reverse. Is it something I moved or is reverse trashed?

Long time since this question but thought I would share my similar experience with no reverse but OK forward hears.

In my case - pulling the battery terminals off and letting it sit a bit to zero out the car brought my reverse gear back.. currently trying to figure out why that is!
