Does anyone know the spec's on the OEM sub-woofer in the rear deck?I know it's a 12". But is it 1 or 2 ohm?

By the way, if anyone thinks they can just change out there factory Bose speakers to "A Better Name Brand". Think again!

I changed out my front door 6 1/2" speakers to some Infinity 6022i 2-way 90w 2-ohm speakers? No where near the bass or power of the Bose.

I put the Bose back in.

My friends on SoundDomain forum were right."With Bose OEM systems, it's either all or nothing".

You either replace the whole system of just stick with the Bose.

Now I'm going to try and just replace the sub.

What can I say? I'm a slow learner.

You are correct. The Bose speakers have more bass output then an aftermarket swapout(using bose power) will provide you. What you'll notice is that with the aftermarket speakers you can turn up the volume more without getting distortion. With the bose speakers you can't turn up the volume too much before the sound becomes muddy.

So to say that you can't throw an aftermarket in place of the Bose isn't correct. As you noticed though, the sound will be altered.

here's a very cost efficient upgrade to the Bose subhttp://www.edesignaudio.com/ed...d=183

You may need an amp as that sub is 4 ohms.
