I know the 02 Q45 had the crappy rear end gears and all the Qs afterward came with the better rear end gears I found a 05 with 87k on it with perfect rear diff and the guy is parting it out an willing to sell me the entire rear diff for 200 bucks and i can install it, but was wondering if this has been tried and would it mess anything up??

well Im assuming noone has tried it so therefore I bought it and will be installing it tomorrow morning so will report back to how much difference there is. While there he let me have the low mileage oil valve control solenoids and cam and crank sensors which were all very nice since the engine is a replacement and only had 47k on it but the block got cracked in the accident. So i bought those and installed on my car as well as the injectors, fuel pump, switching over some of the knobs so it looks more modern, and may go back for a few other things if i can find what will work on my car and is worth changing over too.

Well for any 02 Q45 owners that have wanted a cheap, fun, and pretty easy upgrade I suggest doing the rear end swap to a 3.13 gear ratio. I switched took bout an hour an half to finish and car pulls much harder, is faster offline, and pulls great through the rev range. No codes, no weird transmission shifts seems to run as it did before just stronger acceleration

I didnt get any weird codes or anything from changing gear ratios the trans computer seemed to compensate 1 time I did get a speed sensor code but i cleared it and nvr came back on. But i did have a thought ..... when I took my car in for the update to improve the 02 shifting he said the trans was up to date. Well it really had sloppy slow shifting and the 2nd part of that thought was the 03 trans TCM was already setup for differing shifts cus it came with a 3.13 rear end. So i looked and found an 03 Q45 TCM with a warrentee for 40 bucks shipped. Got it today and wowser what a difference .... trans shifts quick and firm lie it should no more slow slop shifting and it shifts like it should. So while I didnt need to change the TCM to enjoy the new better rear gear ratio it was a worth while change that has made the car not only more enjoyable to drive but faster as well !!

It sounds like you're having fun! All good to know... the '02+ Qs weren't produced in great numbers, so we don't tons of information here on them.
