The key in stuck in ignition switch, its not moving towards right. I can take the key out but am unable to start the car as key doesn't move.

I had posted about the problem I was having with parking lights fuse blowing. The mechanic was trouble shooting it and now the Auto lights, memory seat and auto adjustment of seats when exiting vehicle does not work. From a week or so key will not come out of ignition if the lights were on.

Any idea what can be wrong?

The car is in a garage now and the mechanic is saying that the security lights are on also.

It might be a bad ignition switch as all kinds of electronic funtions run through the switch and on a newer car I bet its quite an electrical 'hub"-but I'm just guessing.

I think that a key that won't move is usually a mechanical fix and a key not turning is the symptom.

Good luck!!

Wiggle the steering wheel. I had the same thing happen the same day I brought my Q45 home.

while I think Ahmed's problem is a little more seriuos,I hear you on the wiggle thing.

If the steering system has any presure on it, like the steering wheel turnrd to far, you have to slightly turn the wheel to relieve the presure.

The first time that happened I was in a panic.

Thanks for the replies.

I know the wiggle thing but it didn't work. The car rear security lights came on also. I'll have it checked by dealer. The mechanic has to disconnect the battery and reset the system for the car to start. It works now but I still can't get the key out if the light switch is in Auto mode. I have to turn it off to get the key out. Memory seats are not working.
