When i first got the car..i checked the oil ..oil was low. So i filled it up till the middle of the dipstick; I drove the car probably 7miles max. I check the oil today..and the dipstick shows there is no oil left again. I know this engine is notorious for burning oil ..but 7 miles i lost a quart of oil? wtf. I hope its cuz the driveway is a slight hill.

Dang now that's insane if that's the case! Take the car to the dealership and have them run some critical oil consumption tests on the car's engine. If they have to replace the block that will cost a major grip---more than the car's value.

The engine redesign in 2002 makes it mandatory for EXPERT testing of any used V8 [even V6] prior to purchase.

Many of the engines suffer from worn/weak/bad ring tension and extra oil consumption.

Failure by previous owners to constantly mantain FULL OIL can lead to even more severe damage that is not recoverable.

RUNNING low ONCE can allow overheats and head gasket damage and WARPED HEADS.If it is winthin 6 years [to the day] or 69,999.9 miles and you can prove with written documentation that every oil change was less than 180 days Nissan will usually replace engine.

Do you have all the documentation?

If it was using a quart in 7 miles, surely you'd see some exhaust smoke.

If you pull the dipstick and look at the oil on it - Is it clear, or milky?

False alarm.....has been 2 weeks monitoring the oil and is not burning oil. It's just when i part on a slight slant that the dipstick will show no oil.
