Well last night i was driving the passenger headlight flickered that went out. I got home pull the bulb and checked the fuse. the fuse was blown so i replaced it but that didnt fixed the prob. I tried to start the and it wouldnt start so i had to jump it, i later took the car to have the it checked at autozone and they said that i needed a battery. Im wondering if there is a short soemwhere because ive blown the fuse everytime i turn the light on and now it seems like something is draining my battery...any thoughts guys

Update: I replaced the bulb with a ds2 bulb that i had laying around that i took outa my TL i while ago so im not sure if they were anygood in the first place either way it didnt work so im not sure if its the bulb or the balast yet.I figured out why the fuse were blowing, the orignal bulb i took (bad one) was causing it (weired) because after i switched it, it stop blowing the fuse.I will see tomorow if the car starts without needing a jump fingers crossed..

While F50 ballasts are known to be spotty in performance, without a known new good D2S bulb, you're just urinating upwind.

My passenger headlight blew...blow fuse. Changed bulb...didn't help...still blowing fuses.

Should I order a new ballast - or is there something else to check?

Thanks.

Is the left headlight fused separately from the headlight? If so, you could swap the ballast side to side and see if the short moves with it. The ballasts are known to be suspect on the F50 series, but it would be worth troubleshooting it before ordering a part that you may not need...
