Are the cooling fins on rad or one for the a/c clean and clear so air can pass through them easily? Enough bugs, dirt and other things can block either one and you really can't tell unless you take it right out as you cant see them very well on most cars, but I honestly haven't seen a 02 q45 to know if you can or not.

Humm. I doubt the timing could be jacked up too high on that new of a car, but if it was could cause it to overheat as well as running to lean. No CELs? And is the coolant level fine? Never drops or anything? Rad caps in good condition?

there is no leaks cap is new. no engine light. i might have to take out the condenser and pick on it to make sure its really clean. i also ordered new hoses maybe one of them is bad and blocking the flow. and the timing has never been messed with so it should be fine. it started heating up last summer. but it did that only once when i ran it really hard up a hill when it was like 110 outside. but its been dooing it more often now. a 30 minute trip would cause it to heat up

I'm sorry I don't know much about your model, the only things I could think of is what I mentioned, I was thinking a air pocket but you said your heating works fine. I guess you could (when the car is cold so u don't burn yourself) park it facing up a steep hill, take off the rad cap let it idle and see if any air comes out. Just don't burn yourself

On the m45 forum I read that if the thermostat opens too early it will not allow the coolant enough time to cool down and would cause it to over heat. Could that be the issue with mine since mine opens at 170 instead of 180?

Not sure on that...
Check out the bleeding procedure in section EC of your car's service manual - available at www.nicoclub.com/FSM/
I also noticed a separate "coolant control valve" in the loop that I've never noticed on other cars... I'm not sure what would happen if something failed on it...

I just had my uncle look at it and he says its probably the head gasket. He says not try tightening the head. And if not replace the gasket. I'll.try that

If it was the head gasket,, wouldn't there be a sign. Burning white smoke, water in oil, oil/gas in the coolant, coolant level droping or raising. A leak. That's what I would be looking at
