i recently got into an accident and im trying to fix my pathfinder.the fan blade has a crack and the fan clutch might be broken [always spinning even at startup] . ive priced the replacement parts and found that it cost about the same price as an electric fan [$130] if not more. ive never installed an electric fan controller and i have no idea how to. is there a tutorial you can point me to for this car?what is the best electric fan to buy and what is the best fan controller to buy?post reply....

Question: Should the stock fan not be running at startup? Since I've bought my car it's always run with the engine running.

Flex-a-lite makes some great fans (http://www.flex-a-lite.com), they have really high CFM's and are extremely quiet. I've seen some great setups. They also make a variable speed fan controller kit, comes with wiring, relays, fuses, thermostat, the whole nine yards. I was considering an electric fan upgrade for my '03. Let me know how you like yours and post some pics if you get a chance!

Their Black Magic Xtreme fans are supposed to be their best electric fans.
