02 Pathfinder will not crank

02 pathfinder 150k on the dial. Went out to start it up today tried to hit one quick time and fire then it just stopped. It will fast crank but there is no hint of it trying to fire. I can hear the buzz or and sound of some relays popping under the hood after it is cranked. The check engine light is on but I don't have a tool to read it. Any ideas or is there a way to get the code without a scanner.
