So i been staring at my shifter for a while and wanted to change the dim light within... i know the size and all that the problem i have is removing that trim to get at it... I've looked up the forum and it doesnt seem like its the same as the qx4 and doesnt just "pop out" am i supposed to be unbolting stuff? (under the lil panel in front of the e brake)

Half of it just pops right up. You have to give a good tug on it, it will come up. Then theres a bolt under the little ashray thingy you have to pop that out and there is another under that piece of plastic that sits under the E-brake!

Well this will expose the whole shift assembly itself. I haven't ever taken this apart before. You do not need to unbolt anything this will only let you pull up the rest of the center console around the shift knob. Which you do not need to do.
