Here is the issue: I start my engine , let it idle for 5 mins , engine gets hot as usual but the blower still pushes cold air , only after I start driving it and get to a certain speed , I can feel hot air comming through the vents.

Mine is the same way i have an 02 QX4. Depends on what the outside temp is. My workplace is about a 10min drive, today it was -19C and it took about 6min of actual driving on top of my idling to warm up. Depends on the climate you start at i suppose...that is my take on it...

Make sure your coolant is at an adequate level (check overflow reservoir and fill to MAX line if it's not already; if it's empty you'll need to add some coolant to your radiator). You may want to flush your heater core or get it flushed somewhere, it may be clogged. Also change your in-cabin air filter, if equipped.
