i have a 02 nissan pathfinder SE 4x4.
ive been noticing that when i leave the car sitting for about a day or two the
fuel level in the vehicle gets lower , yet i notice no fuel leak puddles.
when i turn the key the car it starts right up.
how can i tell if/where the fuel is leaking from ??

Is there a chance someone's stealing it? :naughty:

I'd put a clean sheet of paper or cardboard under the car and let it idle for a while to see if any drips show up on it. You can also pull the fuel pump cover off (under the rear seat, driver side) as described in this thread and check the line connections on the engine while the it's running to see if you can spot leakage as well. The only other spot you could check visually is the fuel filter which is just forward of the rear axle.

If all of that checks out, check the filler tube/neck and see if it has any damage. If it does, you'll likely smell fuel as you're filling up, though.

Fuel filler necks have a history of corroding and leaking on older Pathfinders.
I had to replace mine last year.

How about a vapor leak? Check your EVAP hoses.

Possibly, but I don't think so. EVAP system leaks would throw a code, but if you had a pinhole sized leak at the bottom of your fuel tank, then the EVAP system couldn't notice it until the tank level had dropped enough to expose the hole to air. And even then, it may not register as egregious enough.
