Went to the dealer the other day. Saw an 05 Q45 with 31lk miles the want $23k, non sport with navi and rear camera, heated cooled seats. Should I trade my 02 Maxima SE black on black for this Q?

Please help me decide.

Of course you should. You should be ashamed for waiting this long.

I'd do it. Black-on-black 5th gen maximas are sexy, but they're not Qs.

Not without looking at the service records FROM DAY ONE.....looking for repeat complaints of problems, and especially oil consumption.....only if records check out 100% does it make it to the second test....professional inspection from a DIFFERENT dealers master tech.....then the pricing negotiations, etc

that makes alot of sense as a number of members have posted about oil consumption. See the records and also get an extended warranty, that is an expensive car to fix and you want to know you'll have 4-5 years of no repair bills.

Get a 3rd party to look unless the car is 100% dealer maintained (in records from Infiniti), if it shows that your probably looking at a pretty darn good deal.

I know that the 03 and up has a different(lower) gear ratio. It should be a little quicker that the 02's. If they take my Maxima for $11k I will bite the bullet and try to get the Q for $20-22k. The only thing I don't like is the ICC. I know that it will be trouble down the road. Man, it is so hard to see i can own the 05 for less than $200 a month.

If they give you $11k for an 02 Max jump on that! I retaded my 04 Max SL in immaculae condition and only got $11k. I bought an 05 Q45 (non sport) fully loaded, chrome wheels and all with 17k miles for $27k, if it checks out you should go for it. My car is certified pre-owned for 100k miles and I have the matching bumper-to-bumper to match just in case some of the electronic gizmos fail. I have put 2.5k miles since I owned it in just over a month and I haven't experienced the oil consumption problem. I will switch it over to synthethic in 500 miles and monitor it and report my findings.

Good luck,

Mike
