Hello Nicoclub,

I have searched the archives and Forums with no luck. Hope you guys can help. I have been experiencing rough idle issues so I elected to undertake the mission of changing my plugs. I followed a very helpful walkthu from here http://infinitihelp.com/diy/i/projects/ ... cement.htm . As suggested, I cleaned the manifold with Gumout and replaced the gasket with a new one before I reconnected all of the hoses and sensors.
All went well until I tried to start her up at completion. Car turns over but there's no fire at all, so no start. :tisk:
Before the repair all was good outside of the rough idle.

Any suggestions?

:welcome: to NICO!

How much did you spray into the manifold, and where did it go? Assuming you hooked everything up correctly when you were done - is it possible that it's flooded with the cleaner? I think I'd try holding the pedal to the floor while starting to see if that will allow it to start. I can't remember if the '02 I35 was "drive by wire" but I'm hoping the ECU performs the same way as the older models when you try to start the car while the pedal is fully depresed... it should be telling it "start without pulsing the injectors - we think the engine is flooded"

Heath,

Thanks for responding. I'd did finally get her started later that day. I had to take my battery for a charge since I tried to start it for 15mins. With the full battery, I gunned the accelerator while starting and she rumbled and stumbled and and now runs like a dream. Decided to come back check out the forum and leave my results. Thanks again for responding!!
