Hey guys- Im a former DSMer, and they sell 02 housings for DSMs with a tube for the wastegate to vent to the atmosphere. This obviously frees up some power by creating less backpressure and smoothing out exhuast flow. It also is loud as hell since the wastegate is venting out a short pipe.

Does anyone make these for RWD SR? Its just the housing that goes from turbine to DP.

Thanks!

I don't think I have seen an O2 housing with two separate tubes (one venting to atm) for an internally wastegated SR turbos... The turbine housing outlet for Mitsu turbos are significantly different than turbine housing outlet normally on SR engines... I don't see how a two tube o2 housing would work on a SR turbo..

They do make divorced chamber ones but they merge into one before the DP.

This kind of design makes it easy for creating O2 housing with two separate tubes...

Where as SR turbos normally look like this...http://store1.yimg.com/I/jspec_1783_130316505

See... it would be alot more difficult with this type of turbine housing.

Iv seen some Turbo elbow's that run the wastegate to the atmosphere made for the sr's stock t25 and t28's.I dont know who made them..But HKS and Greddy make split turbo elbow that separate the wastegate from the turbine. But the wastegate pipe flows back into the elbow near the bottom flange. If you wanted it to go out to the atmosphere i guess you could get the HKS and cut the wastegate pipe and weld one end closed.

Yes, 180fan is correct. Its really made for RHD cars with steering rack on the opp side..

You have to bang the chit out of it to make it fit.

Just wanted to give some input as me being a dsmer with an o2 dump,it does work pretty good at getting rid of boost creep and makes a 2.5 inch o2 housing flow like its a 3 inch because the wastegate and the turbo exhaust isnt fighting to get into the same pipe.

That being said I havegiven some thought to how you could do it with an sr20det,the only o2 dump that has a seperate pipe for the wastegate and a divider that goes inside the turbo to seperate the wastegase passage and the turbo is the ss autochrome, and it would clear the steering column shaft too.

Read this article here and you can apply the same thing to the ss autochrome o2 housing for the sr20det.
