02 gauge cluster lighting

hey peeps i want to change the orange in the gauge cluster. i know the gauge cluster has an orange film on it. so i wanted to know if anyone here with a 02-04 alt has found a safe way to remove the orange film. or is there a vendor that has a modified one. i do have a reverse glow white gauge cluster that i havent installed yet, but i want a black gauge cluster now. i'll just change the T5 wedge bulbs for the color.
