'02/'03 Maxima info

Hello everyone, noob here..

I'm starting to look for an '02 or '03 Maxima (no preference between SE/GLE but I'm curious if there are common problems with them at all. I actually used to sell Nissans at Van Dyn Hoven Nissan (now Bergstrom) so I have some Nissan knowledge. I love the VQ35 engine, so that's why I'd like at least an '02..

This car will be my replacement for my "beater" need which is currently a '97 Volvo 850. I'm assuming the repair costs on Maximas are slightly less than european cars, but if I'm wrong I'd like to find out sooner rather than later..lol

There never seems to be many Maximas from those years around (probably a good thing).

It might take some time, but I'd love a maroon one..

I didn't look at your personal info on the left before I started reading... so I thought it was strange that there might be two Van Dyn Hoeven Nissans in the world... lol. Then I realized you're from NE Wisconsin like I am.

02/03 Maximas are fantastic cars!!!

I just picked up an 03 Infiniti I35 which is pretty close to the same car. It's great!

Burning oil and bad 3rd gear syncro on the 6 speeds are all I can think of. Other than the oil thing, I have no problems with mine and I've put 40k on it since I bought it.

Yeah, Bergstrom bought Van Dyn Hoven a few weeks ago... I worked for Van Dyn Hoven for about a year...decent company, but the job wasn't for me. Although, the people there are very nice.

Now, I just need to find one!! There's ab '03 6 speed for sale in the MKE area..but I really don't care for the color combo..
