01 vq30de in 99 max??

ok so headgasket's blown in current engine and we want a new one. i'd much rather have the 00-01 or 3.5. is there any significant difference between my current engine and trans and everything in the '00-'01? i drive a 99 GLE auto.

It has been done before. But there are significant differences so it depends on the amount of time and money you are willing to spend. One forum member thought about doing it but eventually went back to VQ30. Below are links for the conversion.

Did you read the info in the links? I know what you want. 'VQ35 Swap' is about replacing a VQ30 with VQ35.

to the OP , yes . the only diffrence between the 2 is the manifold.

so would i be able to use an engine out of a 01 maxima for my 95 maxima? aslong as i swapped the intake manifold?
