'01 Sentra Shift Problem

Hey guys, I'm new to the site. Long time lurker, short time member. Yesterday, my cousin came over to do an oil change on his car. Before we did that, we decided to clean his interior and replace a burnt out bulb on the shift indicator. We had to move some wires around while we were trying to get the socket back into the shifter bezel. After that we did an oil change. Then we went to get some coffee, as he was driving he was flooring it and the car was just cruising slowly. I called my dad, went back to my house and checked the transmission fliud and it was low. We put about a quart in it, and then drove it around and it was shifting better. Like at the 5kmark where as it was shifting at 6k. Throughout the night it was shifting better. Then today it just started acting up again.

What might be the problem?

There were no signs of any problems before? Just started this out of the blue?

My 01 SE 2.0 ended up having some sort of problem that just developed over time because for some reason the seal on the transmission slowly leaked enough oil into the transmission for it to just go bad...it was really weird and cost a LOT of money to fix. I would hope that isnt the problem but just letting you know what it could be.
