My car check engine light has been on and off for the last month. Now the light has stayed on for about a week so i go the code read off being the knock sensor and o2 sensor. I have to question. One do i need to get them replaced right away and two is it difficult to replace the knock sensor on your own on a 01 Sentra. I don't have a clue where it is located. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it is under the intake manifold in the middle of the block. its not to bad to do if you have a 1.8l. IF you have the 2.0l its a bit more difficult to get to.

If the O2 sensor is bad, it's going to affect the driveability and the MPG.

Thanks for the reply. My car is the 2.0. Do u happen to have any for in-depth information on replacing the knock sensor or know any how-to sites that provide more details on replacing it.

It is held on by 1 12mm bolt that goes right through the center of it. 1 unplug the connector plugged into it.2 remove bolt switch in new knock sensor and put bolt back in.3 plug it in.

Those are the steps. no to do this you must be able to joint your wrist and arm in 4 different places to get to it from underneath the car...lol You dont have to remove anything else you just have to be patient and have a real good yoga instructor.
