I need some new springs for the rear of my 01 Qx4. AS far as I know there the stockers so there probly worn out but I also have a large sub box and an extra 2 batteries in the back and when I have a passenger or two its pretty slammed and hits the bump stomps and bounces around.

Is there a company that makes a spring that would make my car ride @ OEM height or even lower with all that weight, but not bounce around??

Id like it lower as Im going for the sporty suv look, not lifted or anything. But I dont wanna hit bump stops and bounce with a passenger or two.

Any good replacements out there? Or should I just try and find some OEM ones??

Is there a difference between qx4 and pathfinder springs??

I had the same problem. I have a 03 Pathfinder with 136,000 miles. I ended up using AirLift air bags and love them. They were very easy to install. I pretty much had to disasemble the rear suspension but it really wasn't that bad. Took me about 1.5 hours. I changed the rear shocks and added the air bags at the same time. I love the ride and I can now adjust it for different loads. I looked around before buying these and all I could find were springs that were going to lift the rear or OEM. But, if you go back with OEM you'll run into the same problem you have now. There are some lowering springs at 4x4parts.com, but I wasn't looking to lower mine. I highly recommend the air bags.

http://www.airliftcompany.com/ This is a link to their website. You can buy these at almost any online auto parts store. They go inside your coil springs and they will hold anywhere from 5-35 psi. I have mine set at about 8 psi for normal everyday driving with no extra load in the back, and it sits at stock height. You can get lift out of them if you put more air in them.

Look in the yellow pages under springs. Back in my 240Z autocross days, somefolks were getting custom springs made.

There are also rubber rings you can insert between the coils.
