Hey, I'm new to this forum and got a question. I just hit 87k mi and wandering how to change my plugs. Is it easy?

Also, should I be changing the spark plug lines/wires?

Thanks.

Welcome to NICO!

Your QX4 uses individual coils on each spark plug, so you don't have the traditional spark plug wires and distributor cap to maintain.

The process doesn't look too bad. Just make sure you order a new throttle body gasket along with your OEM spark plugs. Aftermarket plugs, especially Bosch, have caused numerous issues on Nissan and Infiniti engines.

Oh, and one of our sponsors, Infiniti of Scottsdale, is offering an additional 5% discount on top of their typical 25% off on OEM parts. http://www.everythinginfiniti.com

Thanks for responding...

What's a throttle body gasket? Is it hard to replace?

The throttle body is the butterfly valve that is opened by the cable attached to your accelerator pedal. When you remove it (as the FSM says you must do to access one of the plugs) you need to use a new gasket when you reinstall it. This is also a good time to clean all traces of the brown/black carbon and residue off of the inside of the throttle body with brake parts cleaner.
