at the speed of 75mph, my rpm is at 2500 in the summer time. when the weather gets colder (54 or less), my car takes at least 7-10 minutes for the rpm to come down to 2500 rpm. has anyone have this issue before and how do you fix it?

thanks

If your QX4 is like mine the RPM stay high because the final gear in the Xmission cannot come into use until the Xmission oil is at temperature. When its cold out that could be about 15-20 minutes depending how you drive.

yeah, its supposed to be at a higher RPM to warm up the engine, if you sit in the car and watch the tach, youll see it slowly dropping until it gets to normal revs

Like the others said, it's normal.
I seem to recall that it might even say something in the owners manual about this, but it's been a while since I checked.
Up here in snow country BTW, when it gets REALLY cold, it sometimes seems to take forever before the overdrive kicks in.

It wasn't like that when I bought it in 2001. I just had this problem for the last couple years.
