I need to replace my Engine Control Module. My Idol Air Control Valve failed and short circuited it. I've read plenty of posts on here about this problem and several solutions. I've decided to buy a salvaged ECM, but need some guidance regarding purchasing used parts.

My OEM part number is 237134W003, found here: http://www.infinitipartsonline.com/oe-i ... 237134w003. However, I'm not seeing any used parts using this OEM number. The parts on ebay use MEC14-170, such as here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/01-Pathfinder-Q ... LQ&vxp=mtr

Does anyone know why the designation MEC14-170 is different than 237134W003, and whether the ECMs on ebay would work for what I need?

I decided to pull the part to see if the part in my car has a Hitachi part stamp on it. Unless someone has already done this, that is the only way I know to find out whether the Hitachi part matches the infiniti part number. I'll post back with an answer in case someone has this issue in the future.

Are you sure you cannot get your ECM repaired? It may be that only one part is "fried". No doubt you've read posts about folks sending theirs to Circuit Board Medics or other places. Or, if you're resourceful, replace the chip yourself:

I was under the impression that if you replace the ECM you'll also need to replace or reprogram your keys (which may require towing), unless you are lucky enough to find a used ECM that includes the keys.
