Hey guys, I did some searching on here and couldnt find a kit for my car or any real pics of what anyone else has with basic searching.

I just did a full 2.5" catback with a flowmaster on my qx4 and it sounds mean, but I think a CAI would make it alot batter, and probly preform better to.

Id like to make the entire kit myself, but dont know if Im allowed, simply because of the MAF

What Id LIKE to do, is use some 3" pipe I have and just make my own intake, locate the MAF by just drilling and tapping into a welded flat spot on my intake pipe close to oem distance from the throttle body, and throw a filter down in the fenderwell.. but I dunno if Im simply allowed to do that or not.....

Is there a cheap complete online kit?

Im pretty handy and love to save money thats why Id like to make it myself, the filter would be the most expensive thing probly.

Id love to see some pics. I'll post pics of everything I do

Thnks guys

all u need is a maf adapter with is like $30 or on ebay $12,bolt it to ur maf and then run ur piping from there, if u want ram cold air intake just take off the plastic pieces under the airbox in the fender and run a tube, piping, duct down to behind the grill , also u can make a lil box to collect more air while still maintaining stock appearance

I dont see no Maf adapters on ebay. they just bolt to the throttle body and somehow mount the sensor somewhere else and give you an easy connection to run the rest of your piping?

Id like this thing to sound alive when I step on it

well u can try performanceimprovements, they sell them they go for about $30 , i could of swear i saw some on ebay just last week. i think vibrant makes the ones at P.I. and i am talking about an adapter that bolts on to the maf sensor housing exactly in the manner that ur stock box does, if u do what i told u if will sound more than alive, u might feel u front end pick up

I've put the K&N Intake on my '01, you can see a picture of it in this thread zerothread?id=306044

I'd take the MAF adapter off to take some pics, and measurements but since winter temps have returned here in Southern Ontario, I'm driving the Pathfinder again, and I kinda need that part on the car :-)

Basically the MAF adapter is just a plate that the MAF can bolt to, and the filter can attach to with a hose clamp. The other side of the MAF (engine side) is also held on with a hose clamp.

I would like to install an after market exhaust on my QX4 but can't find anyone who makes a kit. Did you stay with the single exhaust and just have a local shop replace the pipes and muffler? If yes, how much louder is the vehicle? Do you still have the OEM Cats?
