My clock lights and my entire heating and air conditioning control lights are completely out. I suspect a fuse as they both went out at the same time.

Anyone have any ideas? Hoping I can make it out there to fix it all today sometime.

Check Fuse #61. On an '01 PF, the illumination circuits are fed by it. Note thatit ALSO feeds the tail lights. If you blew a fuse, try to figure out why.

Also check the instrument panel brightness switch.

A third and less likely possibility is the tail lamp relay (it also feeds the illumination circuits).

I found a 10AMP fuse under the hood that was labeled for "tail lights" replaced it still no luck, the lights are out still. How do I begin trying to locate the short if there is an issue?

Was the fuse you replaced blown? Do the tail lights work?

If the fust was blown, and the new one blew, you are looking for a short. Ifnot you are looking for an open.

Yes it kept blowing fuses.

However, I figured it out Chuck, thanks for your help. I checked both of the connections my toe bar is making into my brake lights, everything appears to be fine. I disconnected the power lead to the tow bar and my lights are back up.

U Haul tow bar has been on here for about 3 years without issue, I suppose they get to rewire it again considering their lifetime warranty.

Thanks again, saved my weekend!
