01 QX4 back hatch doesn't open

Randomly my rear hatch quit opening. I got all the plastic paneling off and it seems everything is moving like it should. Not sure if it makes sense but the "hook" on the door doesn't seem to completely let go of the loop on the frame. Any insight on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Adjust the door striker outward slightly. I think it uses a T20 Torx bit if I recall correctly.
