My QX is struggling over 2500 rpm. Looking at some of the threads it looks like it could be the MAF. Question is, I see that some recommend the Maxima MAF. Why? I don't see that it's cheaper. What year Maxima MAF is being used?

If you looked at some of the threads youd see the part number and year mentionned many times and yes it is about 1/4 of the price

Cleaning your MAF should be your first route though, many threads on that to

While your at it...
gasoline filter
air filter
throttle body de-coking
plugs check gap
timing --advance
fuel rail pressure and volume

Depending on miles driven
timing, wear, fuel pump, valve check, throttle linkage

But start with MAF as said

Throttle linkage!?
Just because you push down that long peddle, doesn't mean the throttle plate responds correctly, especially years of use. Stretched cables, TPS out of synch with movement. In time things break, wear or a PO thinks he knows what he's doing but fails and sells that vehicle...then it starts all over; problems, so many different problems...I could write a book about how people screw other people just to get rid of problems.

If you drive by wire...later!

Is the SES light on? Is it throwing any codes?

Throttle linkage is a possibility (throttle not opening all the way when you floor it), and relatively easy to check (pull the intake
pipe off the throttle body, have somebody step on the gas pedal (engine off of course) and look into the throttle body to see that the
throttle plate is parallel to the air flow.
