Hello,

Just found your site. I have a 2001 Q45T that runs great, not codes, no problems at all other than the fact that the car has to crank a long time before starting. It always starts, but it just seems like it cranks for about 4-5 seconds before it fires up. I've cleaned the throttle body and ran an fuel induction cleaning on the intake, and also cleaned the maf. I don't really know if it made any difference.

I don't think it is related to fuel because it does it whether you start the car after it has been sitting, or start it , shut it off, start it , shut it off.

I've searched through the forums and have seen a lot of no start problems, but can't seem to find anything on long crank time.

What is also strange is that I can scan, read and clear codes with my pocket scanner, or using the Mac Tool on Global ODBII but when I try to use the Nissan Consult or go through Nissan/Infiniti on the Mac tool I simply get no communication. I was trying to monitor fuel trim and some other data streams but no luck.

Any help or direction would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Consult II and III, no communication. Like I said, pocket scanner scans and clears codes, but thats it.

the car was purchased about 6k ago, it has 75K on it now. Do not have any history on it, but the car it self is clean, looks well taken care of.

I was looking for 3 seconds also, but this is def 4-5.

Replace spark plugs, first, then measure the fuel pressure after shut off and time to rise from on , and during cranking looking for excessive and fast leak down from worn fuel pump or leaky injectors/pressure regulator, etc.

Coils normally last 100k [7 years] but not sure about years [9?].

Have you tried depressing the gas pedal half way when you turn the ignition key. On mine at least this reducing the cranking time significantly
