Hey Folks -

Got an issue I hope someone can help with before I try and take it to a mechanic and get screwed...

I have a 2001 Pathfinder 5-Speed with roughly 122k on it. Overall, runs and drives great - although I am noticing a vibration when coasting with the truck in gear... for example traveling along local main road at about 40mph in 4th gear and take my foot off the gas -- this vibration starts - and goes away as soon as I put my foot back on the gas.

Any thoughts....

Thanks!

Are your wheels balanced? Alignment good? Check for play in the driveshaft(s). Can you tell which direction the vibration is emanating from?

Welcome to NICO.

Thank you - Yes, wheels balanced & alignment good - new tires last fall. Used to have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and had a similar issue and was the driveshaft joints... wondering if this is the same issue....

Weird, though - ran errands with it this AM and it didn't do it.... I'll get underneath it today!

While you're down there, grease the driveshafts. Any NLGI No. 2 lithium soap base grease will be fine.
