Hi everyone, I know there are quite few threads on this topic but I had a few other questions...

I am going to be upgrading both my rims & tires shortly...

I am looking to get an more aggressive AT or MT tire, in of course the largest size possible on a stock suspension/body.

First question: Would it be best to stick to a 16x7, 16x8 or 17x8? Is a 17x9 at all possible?

I am considering going w/ either the Mickey Thompson Classic II or the d!ck Cepek DC-1.

Second question: From what I gather it seems the largest tire size to fit w/o modification would be 265/70/16 or 265/65/17. Is that correct? Any way to squeeze a 265/75/16 under there?

This is mostly for 'looks' I dont plan on doing much, if any Off-Roading in the Pathy so flex is not an issue....I have a Wrangler for that

Thank you for your thoughts & help ahead of time!

If you have any other wheel suggestions as for a type/brand of wheel to consider I would greatly appreciate that as well.

Thanks!

The "only" tire which I have found not to have excessive shoulder wear due to the QX4's excessive body roll and huge sway bars, was the Michelin LTX MS / you can also try the AT2 if you're interested, both are $$$$$$, but both last forever...literally.

Try using this Tire calculator I found on the web. Just plug in numbers and

you'll get a visual and it also shows how size changes your speedometer. I

found it useful when I went shopping for tires last month. The original size for

my Pathfinder 255/65/16 is NOT a common size. You can get a 255/70/16 all

day long and at a better price.

I stuck to the original size and went with Yokohama @ $125ea.

I might be able to accomodate. I just purchased - 300 miles on the tires - General Grabbers HTS. No.1 rated by Consumer reports for SUVs. They are fantastic M &S - excellent handling, steering, and smooth. better than the Michelin LTX I replaced. Just informed that I need a transfer case and driveshaft to be replaced. I will probably trade the PF in, But I hate to do that with these new tires. Orignal cost installed, & balanced were $700 with road hazard warranty from Mavis Discount tire. Problem is - I would need to put older tires on my PF and ship the new tires to the buyer....It's a thought.
