01 pathfinder LE 3.5, 130k miles, finally, engine check light on, P1320.

It's like driving 15mins or so, then, engine start missing fire, can feel engine shake pretty bad for 2 mins or so, and the engine check light is blinking.

I know it is a common problem for all pathy,My question is, is that 100% ignition coils failed? or possible just spark plugs?

I know I have to change all 6 if I decided to replace them, but how long it takes(Nissan dealership)?

thanks you all :)

Mine did that and I only change my #1 coil pack (its the one one that is different from the rest, front-most passenger side) and it cost me $60 canadian from canadian tire

I also then did all 6 plugs but I didnt have to the coil pack fixed the engine shutterring after warmup

I did it myself off pictures on this forum alone in like 1 hour including the trip to the store

FSM has 11 pages on debugging P1320. Get the FSM.

Possible Cause
I Harness or connectors (The ignition primary circuit is open or shorted.)
I Power transistor unit built into ignition coil
I Condenser
I Crankshaft position sensor (REF)
I Crankshaft position sensor (REF) circuit

Lots more besides coils.

Canuck: did you have that code? or just the misfire symptom. And if you changed all six plugs in a hour, you are REALLY good.

Ray-peg: blinking SES light means "Do not operate". You have a bad misfire and it will ruin the cats.

Another common cause of the dreaded 1320 is the MAF. Damn our 01's are a pain in the a** with this one.

that;s helpful, but is that you suppose change all 6 by the same time? other wise they gonna go bad pretty quick? and what caused the missfire, spark plug? or #1 cylinder coil?

i thought the owner's manual said SES light means "missfire". I had my cat code for all mos half year already. always on for 1000miles, off 500 miles.

So it is only throwing P1320? I had that code a few months back, along with P0300 and P1140 and ended up replacing plugs, coils, MAF, and crank sensors. Not sure what fixed it but they all needed to be replaced in my situation.

for right now, yes.

back to 4 days ago, p0430 was there,Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2), but it just went off by itself 3 days before the missfire p1320, my truck do p0430 code on and off all year long

What color are your coils? Are they black or grey? If black I have a couple extra coils.

You follow the procedure in the FSM to find the problem part.

SES light does not just mean "misfire". It means "read the codes and see what the problem is". Don't "think", READ.
