01 path wont shift out 1st no speedo at temp light

Anybody around here have any expirence with 01 pathfinder transmissions. Could this be the speed sensor or tcm? The speedometer went out and now the car wont shift out of 1st ever. All of the sudden. I just fixed the other issues and now this! ive never really heard of trans just go from being perfect to nothing. Another weird anomoly the brakes went about the same time. On the highway the car started jerking misfiring and then smoke then speedometer went and while getting off brakes went soft thank god for an e brake. The at temp light and od light and 4x4 are all on. The od light intitially flashed on the 1st restart but now is just constantly on.

The brakes going out is pretty unnerving! Sounds like everyone survived that intact, thankfully How did they go out? Did the pedal just sink to the floor with no grab, did they become hard to push, etc.? Are they still not working?

I'd start by hooking up a scan tool and find out what codes are being thrown. My guess is the not shifting out of 1st is a result of the other things going on. Is it running right now? Is it running well? Does it idle well?

My guess is that something overheated somehow and took out the transmission along with a brake line. A thorough examination of your underbody is in order.
