01 Maxima Starting problems

I had a starting problem on my car twice now once about a month ago and the other yesterday. Usually the car stars in a single crank and very smooth but a couple of time the cardidn't start good (like when the battery is dead) the second time i did it it worked perfectly I still have to original battery and changed the alternator about a year ago. any suggestions?thanksD

Intermittent problems are a b1tch to troubleshoot. Make sure the grounds are solid and the battery is charging properly.

When it does not start, does the starter click or does it simply do nothing?

it clicks normally it starts in a snap but when this happens i just have to hold the key longer like a couple of more seconds, other than that nothing is wrong think it maybe the spark plugs?thanks
