I've found post on here about programming keyless entry but I'm having problems, hope this is a new problems, if not I'm sorry!

Ok i just bought a 2001 Nissan Maxima GLE. It came with keyless entry, but it doesn't work. First, it had a battery, but i went ahead and got a new one. I cleaned the prongs on the inside. I tried doing the lock, put key in and out 6 times, got the hazards to blink. Then turned the key to the acc position and pressed lock on the keyless entry, nothing happened, started over tried pressing unlock, nothing happened. I then found a different way to do it by after putting key to the acc position to unlock and then lock the driver side door with the power locks and then press a button on the keyless entry, and still nothing. Is there any other ways to do this? The car VIN ends in 631383. The FCC ID number on the keyless entry is NHVWBU43, seen things about this not sure if this will help.

Thanks in Advance, PLEASE HELP!

Also is there anywhere to get the keys with the chip in them made beside the dealership, went in today and said it'd be $100 for the key, and $90 to program it! My jaw dropped!

as for the keylss entry. I had on my '00 a bunch of green **** all over the prongs as you call them on the board. I had to get an exacto knife and get it out of the sides of it and everything. I think i even used some gewbegon< if that is how you spell it. You have to clean it untill you feel and hear a little click every time you press the button or it is sticking.

The key, i heard you can go to some locksmiths and they will cut the key that has the chip, i even thought they programed it for you but not sure. I also heard that after they cut the key you will have to take it to the dealer because they will be the only one that will program it.
