01 Max SE - Airbag light flashing

I need your Help !!!

Yesterday I was driving on the highway and my airbag light started flashing. I turned the car off and started it again but it continues to flash.

Has anyone experienced this problem w/ 5th Gen Maxima's?

What do you think the problem is?

Will this be a costly repair?

You may still be under manufacturer warrenty. The problem is likely your side impact bags located in one of the front seats. the code you probably have is open circuit LH or RH side air bag. There was a tsb on one of the maxs addressing this issue by replacing the seat airbag along with its subharness from the bag to under the seat. they are replace with a single incorperated setup [ the subharness is eliminated by the longer harness coming off the air bag]. Contact your closest dealer and find out if its still under warrenty.

Nistech,Thanks alot for your reply and suggestion. Im setting up the appointment today. I have 80,000 on the car and do not have an extended warranty so I don't think this will be under warranty.I will post the dealerships findings...
