hello fellow nico guru's//
I have a 01 max SE ready to get PA inspection and the o2 monitor and catalyst monitor will not reset.. i have installed the o2 sims on the secondary o2 sensors with no change..

I was trying to avoid replacing the o2 all together , but will the primary o2 (3 wire) i believe called precat, the ones in the exhaust mans cause this o2 monitor to not set?

i have read through the FSM but nothing grabs me to look at. let me say the car runs great, replaced the MAF and plugs. car has about 95k ..

I read about going to the dealer to have the ECU flashed for updates.. does anyone think this will make a difference , or can the consult"II tell me exactly what is buggin out? :wtf2:

i need to get this fixed yesterday,.,

I am a seasoned auto guy, with years of mechanical and 12v experience..

thanks for ur help..

The ECU is going to compare the readings between the front o2 sensors and the final
rear 02 sensor. If there is a substantial variance the CEL will be triggered.
Generally I think the o2 sensors will last about 100K miles. I tried to ride a while with
old ones but the CEL kept coming on and it just wore me down. I noticed
www.rockauto.com has some good prices on Bosch o2 sensors.

Thanks, I must note , I only coded once p0171, outside of that no codes , that's why I'm at a loss to determine what is causing the readiness monitors to set on the o2, the o2 heaters monitor check ok....?
