'01 I30 Window Tint question- are they slightly stock tinted already???

Just bought an '01 I30...going to have windows tinted next week, replacing rims with G35 6 spoke, and adding spoiler. Are my windows already tinted slightly? They are stock...live in Ohio, laws are 50% front and as dark as you want for rear. Want to go darker but not too dark...how much should I take current slight tinting into account? Thanks!

If they are, it's probably only polarization (if you have a pair of polarized sunglasses you'll be able to see a thatched pattern in the glass). Most auto glass does have a very slight tint to it, but it shouldn't interfere with aftermarket tint specs.

Just a point to consider:I personally find dark tint on the front windows a nuisance more than anything. I removed the aftermarket tint from my front windows and night visibility is much improved. Sure, the car doesn't look as nice with only the backs dark, but my visibility is a lot better. If you're planning to tint the fronts, I would consider this when deciding how dark to go.

50% front, whatever you want for the back? That's craziness. I'd much rather have my 35% all around. I do recommend going with 50% all around, just for clean looks, but that's my opinion.

Is the pic in your signature 35% all around? and should I worry about my car being silver, sounds like darker tint is better looking on a silver car. Have darker interior by the way...

Okay, went with 35% all around, looks pretty good. Would've liked 20% but don't want a ticket...If I re-did it I would get 35% front ahd 20% rear.

Yes, stock G35 6 spoke alloys 17x7...bought them from Pam's auto in MN, paid $350 for them shipped to Ohio, paid via paypal...nice operation. used stock lugs that were on the car...is that a bad thing? Also, just found a I35 grill at a HUGE salvage yard 30 minutes from here for $85 I'm putting on this weekend. stock I30 grill, tires and wheels will be for sale on here next week...pm me if interested.
