Hello everyone, I am new to the boards and new to the Nissan/infinity automobile.
I just bought a 2001 Infinity I30 and it has the factory bose sound system. The only problem is that The person I bought it off of had an aftermarket sub in the back and two amps. They were not included in the deal, so he took them out which is what lead to the disconecting of my sound system. I know nothing about sound systems, but would like to learn, and not take it to a sound place to get it fixed.
As of now, the car has factory HU, Speakers, But no AMP. There where no wires cut behind the head unit, just two small rectangle shaped small plastic boxes that were wired into the factory speaker wire coming out of the HU, which then converted into RCA wire that ran all the way back to the aftermarket Amps. Those are now removed so it is all factory at the head unit. In the trunk, aftermarket speaker wire was wired into the factory speaker harness, but the factory wires were cut so the factory wires were not sending current to the factory speakers. I wireback the rear two speakers, and they are very quite, which after a little reasearch lets me believe that this is due to no amp. My final question is. What do I have to do to get the Factory setup to work again. Do i just need to get a factory amp and wire it back in, or is it possible that the car did not come with a factory amp, since there does not seem to be a harness for the amp in the trunk, unless it was cut out which is a strong possiblity since the wire colors do not match up. I Will try to figure more tommorow, any input would be great.
