Hello- thanks in advance for any help. I have acquired an 01 Inf G20t with 183K on it. I have been slowly fixing alot of the problems- I just replaced the exhaust manifold/front cat assy and fixed a few other problems to help get it street worthy.

I keep having a pesky P0105 come back, even after several attempts to clear it. It goes away, but comes right back.

Can anyone help me with some diagnostics, or at least point me in the right direction? I'd hate to spend the money on diagnostics, if i can try and figure it out on my own.

Again- I really appreciate any advice or knowledge you can give me.Adam [email protected]

Welcome aboard, Adam.

Here is a thread that contains codes and their meaning.

zerothread/209037

P0105: Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Malfunction

The absolute pressure sensor detects ambient barometric pressure and sends the voltage signal to the ECM. As the pressure increases, the voltage rises.

If you look on the side of the stock air box, you should see a small hose that runs to it and is plugged into the box. On the 01+ model years this should be the "boost sensor" that is malfunctioning.

Actually, as it turns out, in your sig, RED_DET, you have a link to service manuals. According to that PDF, the MAP sensor is internal to the ECU. And following the diagnostics from the FSM, it would appear that a new ECU is needed.

Can the ECUs in an 01 G20 be replaced with a used unit? Do i need to worry about the theft initialization that appears required?

Thanks again for the response. The link in your sig seems very helpful.

I'm sure that most that have had that code only had to replace the "boost sensor". On the older model g20's it was on the firewall. On the 01-02 model years it should be located near the intake. If you decide to replace the ecu, there is a great possibility that you will need to have the keys reprogrammed. You have to do this on the B15 Sentra when you replace the ecu. On the B15 Sentra the other issue is you can't just put any ecu in there, you must match up code numbers on the ecu, especially if buying a used one.
