Looking for any good ideas that could improve the mpg on my frontier. I already installed a cold air intake and its hard to tell the mpg because the tires are oversized, but its probably around 14 mpg. I've read some other posts and it seems that other people are seeing codes and cel before the mpg drops, but I'm not seeing any of that. Thinking about a new exhaust and possibly a Volo Performance chip. Any ideas and thoughts?

Welcome to Nico! I would recommend exhaust and a tune to let the engine breathe better. That should improve your mileage. Also keeping tune ups up to date helps as well.

Welcome to NICO. I have an 02 VG33 non-SC model. From what I have read the Knock Sensor likes to fail due to where it is located on the engine, this causes the ECM to mess with the timing. If you MOG is that bad I would check for a hidden Knock sensor code, it won't trigger a light. There is info on the nets about Knock Sensor relocation. My truck has the code and it averages 15mpg. I plan on relocating the sensor this summer to see if that helps, I have read that it does make quite an improvement.

Hello,

I have a Nissan Frontier 2002 SuperCharged, 4WD Creb Cab V6 3.3L. I need to replace the PO328 Knock Sensor Computer of my mechanic said: (B1 signal High). Since my car is from the States and the local Nissan Dealer in Aruba doesn`t order these parts, can someone give me an site to order online. I have a PO box in Miami.
Is it necessary to order original nissan parts or can you use alternative brands? Has somebody any experience with Knock Sensor?

(Also I had to order a Polos Mass Air Flow, which I already ordered with Napa)

Is it true that they have to take out the whole engine in order to replace it?

thanks in advance,

regards,

Only the intake manifold needs to come out to get the knock sensor. You can relocate it by splicing into the engine harness and using a knock sensor located elsewhere on the engine. There are very good articles on the subject so don't go randomly cutting wires before you have read up on the topic. Rockauto.com is a good place to get these things.
