You guys have been so helpful in helping me diagnose etc.. I think my first project will be the valve cover gaskets. I watched a few videos (of others cars, not our beloved Q.) and the process seems pretty straight forward. So I think I'll try. W/your help of course.

First
Tools: what kind of tools will I need. I was planning on getting a set from autozone.

Cleaning agents/lubrication: brake cleaner, chemtool, wire brush etc.. What to use to clean the cover? Will I need to clean the valve cover? Are there any particular oils or adhesives I need?

Parts: the VCGs I have has all of these little rings in it. I didn't see these rings on the videos I saw so I'm not sure what they are. (I'm definitely putting the entire process on you tube. There's a Q45 how to short on you tube and I don't see why.

Egr/plenum/TB cleaning: is there a write up preferably w/pics? If not how are these done?

Spark plugs: ngk irridium plugs are way cheaper than plats. Some ppl have told me plats are the best period. I've read that irridium is better on a few forums. But like my advice from gneiss NICO dudes.. Hehehe..

Lastly: besides plugs, what else can go bad as a result of leaky VCGs?

Thanks again guys. You rock! I'll say hi in the video.
